My interest in owning a children’s store started when my son was born. I was determined to read to him as much as possible and it was then that I began to appreciate the beauty and whimsy of the art and language of children’s books. As he entered each phase of childhood, I sought out toys and activities that worked on numerous levels: challenging, engaging, aesthetically pleasing, and entertaining.

Today, I long for non-chain Mom and Pop shops where service is passionate and knowledgeable, provided by people invested in the products they sell. At Pip Squeak, I am here to insure great service and informed advice about products chosen to stimulate and intrigue children.

I support and purchase from small, independent makers and vendors who themselves have a passion for what they do.

Pip Squeak is also collaborating with other small businesses to provide onsite storytelling, craft workshops, and themed events.
